I think I need a break
Sometimes I feel that all I think about is my blog.
Like I need to update it
How are my sponsors doing
How are the blogs that I sponsored this month
What am I going to write about this week, month, etc
Checking emails
Responding back to comments and questions
Arranging blog conferences
Adding people to the list on The Blog Scoop
Tweets
Instagram
Facebook
...
I think that I need a break or slow down.
I would like to just go home after work, flop on the couch and just veg.
I put too much pressure on myself to keep up on the blog. To make sure it's current.
For me, I hate to have days between blog posts. It makes me squirm.
Then I get so excited to have amazing bloggers sponsor me.
Then I have too many sponsors for me to handle and give individual attention to. Then I have the dreaded blogger guilt. Am I doing enough?
I love being a part of this community. It really is a fun, amazing hobby and very rewarding.
But gosh darn I don't want to hate it nor resent it.
I don't want it to feel like work.
So if you don't see me posting a lot. If you don't see me on twitter all the time.
I just need a break and I am breaking my blogger guilt.
Finally, one more thing. This is my last giveaway this month.
Giveaways are a lot of work to put on and organize,
so I am just exhausted from the three I have done so far!
So please support my fantastic friend Tausha.
She is so giving and sweet, and soon will be the most amazing momma to a little girl.
I am so happy for her.
She makes these adorable banners and is so sweet to make a custom banner for the winner,
with whatever you want on it.
Plus I am giving away $25 in a gift card of your choice.
You can enter here.
I am headed to my soon to be sister-in-law's wedding in Santa Cruz tonight.
Hope you all have a fantastic rest of the week and an even better weekend.
You're doing great, girl. I know exactly how you're feeling - just remember that it's about YOU and how YOU want it to be. If you need a break, do it for you! <3
ReplyDeleteI totally know what you mean. I hate having my phone attached to my hand at all times, but it feels like there's no other way!
ReplyDeletego ahead and take that break, or at least scale back. we'll all be here when you get back :)
I totally know what you mean, sometimes I get super burned out. A break is always good!

I know what you mean but you are doing great! Sometimes a little break is all you need and when you come back you'll be better than ever! Have fun at the wedding!
ReplyDeleteHappy thoughts :) I know that pressure though, to be witty and happy and everything you think you're supposed to be.
ReplyDeleteBlogging can definitely be a full time job to keep up with. We all need to those breaks every now and then. No worries - everyone will be here when you get back! :)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean... I feel Blogger guilt a lot but less so because I don't do Sponsors as of right now. I don't know exactly how sponsors play out for you but it's easier to veg out occasionally without having to think about others as much... just a thought!

Take a break and live life. Honestly, if you don't start living, what will you have to blog about?! :-)
ReplyDeleteI hear you! Own your blog and don't let it own you. I love your posts and I'll miss them but I'll just be extra excited to see them when you do put them up! Enjoy your downtime... I know I treasure mine. <3
ReplyDeleteAw I just saw this! I'm starting to feel overwhelmed too! Lets discuss next weekend when I get to meet you live and in person at the miniconference!

Blogging can take a lot out of you! Especially when you have a full-time job on top of everything! You well deserve a break or a little downtime!

Blog because you want to and enjoy it, not because you feel like you have to! ;o)
ReplyDeleteI hear you girl. I came to the same realization earlier this month when I went on vacation and I was like oh so this is what it's like not constantly thinking about my blog. And the whole giveaway thing. I've done one once and it took way more time than I ever anticipated. Blog for you. That's my motto.
ReplyDeleteAwww girl.. blogging should NOT be work, but I totally get why it would feel that way. I used to have different sized ads and very specific number of shout outs and what not, but finally I just did a "one size fits all"
ReplyDeleteEnjoy blogging. Blog when you can. Comment and respond to comments when you can <33
