Date Night | Palomino, San Francisco

Forever ago, Ernie and I visited Palomino in San Francisco on one of our first dates. Then last Saturday, we finally went back to experience the restaurant all over again.

The restaurant is nestled on the Embaracerdo, with stunning views of the Bay Bridge. It’s great to get an up-close look at the light installation on the bridge.

Ernie swears that they sat us in the same section as our first time at Palomino, so I will just go with that story because it’s cute. All I remember is that we sat by the window so we could see the bay views.

We started off our meal with their famous scratch margarita and Moscow Mule while perusing the menu.

The menu has European style items like artisan woodfired pizzas, locally sourced pasta with homemade sauces, and classic items like steak and seafood.

Our waiter, Jim, recommended that we start with their famous crab and artichoke dip.

I have always loved crab dip so we ordered it to go along with the Sicilian meatballs.

Holy moly, I fell hard for the crab dip.

It was so cheesy and had big bites of artichoke in it. I practically licked the bowl.

Ernie really liked the meatballs, too! It had some pistachios mixed in for some added crunch.

For my meal, I picked the Capicola pizza.

The pizza is made with the same grilled flatbread as the bread for the dip. So it’s really thin, but still sturdy enough for all the toppings.

I am a fan of thin pizza, so it was pleased with my meal choice.

Ernie had the chicken parmesan which came with fresh spaghetti “aglio e olio”.

I had a bite of the pasta and it was the perfect amount garlic.

No date night meal would be complete without dessert!

Reliving this dessert all over again. Their tiramisu is made with espresso infused chocolate cake, mascarpone, zabaglione, and crumbled biscotti. Yummmmmmmmmmmm.

Now, the menu may have changed since our last time at Palomino. They used to have more of a focus on steaks, but they still have a holiday prime rib!

As for this new menu, I am a fan! I love that it has a little bit of everything for everyone.

Even though it’s been years since we visited Palomino, it was just as special as the first time. Ernie and I highly recommend this restaurant for your next date night!
