First off,sorry. I have been bad about blogging.But...I missed you.Did you miss me?Since I have been out of the blogging loop, let me tell you what has happened.
1. MINDY HARRIS won the amazing love banner from Tausha
2. Just when I thought I couldn't do more awkward things, I proved myself wrong.I love watching Downton Abbey and if you didn't know, it is a British drama on PBS. Well in the US, we are only on season 2 but you can already buy the dvds at Target because it plays first in Europe. I then said"Yeah but I don't want the British version of season two because then there would be subtitles"Yup, that was dumb. They speak English, just like me.
3. I went to a boot camp class at the gym. In the middle of the class, a girl took off her shirt and NO JOKEthis chick was wearing a regular bra. Not a sports bra. a regular, everyday bra.and not one person said anything.
Yup.What is new with you?

Ahh, to have an unlimited budget to spend on clothes.

I dream of Louboutins and Versace.

but right now I can only afford the Marc Jacobs seen below.

My work clothes are taking over my closet.

When I have a uniform of black suiting and the option of a white or black shirt, my options are limited.

But luckily I can label up my outfit with my love of Tory Burch and Marc Jacobs accessories.

I am a true shopaholic.

Give me a store, any store and I am at home.

But lately, all I can focus on is work clothes.

Hey!I am absent on the blog today because I am a guest blogger atLiving in Yellow.
Honestly, I was totally scared about writing about my anxiety.It had been ruling my life for about 6 years before I realized I wasn't myself anymore and that I needed help.I even asked Erin if I could change my guest post but she said it was awesome and that her readers would connect with my experience and have similar stories. I am so glad I kept it on her blog. I even got an email from this amazing girl who went through the same situation as me and thanked me for having the guts to speak about my issues.

Today I took the time to sit at my desk while drinking my morning coffee. {Instead of sitting on the sofa catching up on my DVR}
From my desk I can see this HUGE tree. Since we have moved here I have watched this tree change with the seasons. Full with bright orange and yellow leaves in the fall. Now those leaves have fallen and what is left is a few red and brown leaves. I LOVE IT.
With all this sun pouring in my window I thought, photo shoot!!

And if my boyfriend finds himself on my blog, he will say"Hey you weren't wearing your hat this morning!"He likes to call me out. But I put the beanie on because I didn't want to scare you with my bed head. Only he gets to see me with my morning hair, poor thing.

My body is all flipped around. I never know what day it is. When you have changing days off, your days are always confused. Tuesday is my Saturday this week!I'm still getting used to working on a full time schedule, so I still LOVE spending my days off on the couch and spending time with my dog.
Earlier this month I decided to join a NEW YEAR BLOGGING PARTY!I adore Casey from The Wiegands. Her blog is all about art, life, babies, and fashion. What I love about certain blogs is that connection you have with them. I look forward to her posts and getting updated with her family's life. So this year Alycia from Crowley Party decided to do something BIG by bringing blogging sisters together by doing a gift exchange. I LOVE LOVE LOVE getting mail. Why wouldn't I want to spread that joy to another blogger??I used to love having a "big sister" while running cross country in high school. On fridays, we would do a little gift exchange with goodies like candy, hair ties, and makeup. LOVED THAT.

While stopping in to my favorite beauty store this weekend I was faced with the NEW Nicki Minaj set.

I really couldn't decide which colors I wanted to put on first.

So I put all of them on!

Oops. Mochi wanted to get in on the shot.

That way when I'm texting they are glittery and fun!!

And my tootsies are blue and glitter!

Yes, I know I look like a little kid with bright colored nails but it spices up my work clothes.

If you met me, you already know I LOVE to shop. I dream about it.I get all antsy when there is a sale. I love getting a good deal, plain and simple.
Also, I am a HUGE advocate for the public library. Seriously, free books? Why isn't everyone there instead of Barnes and Noble??
But have you checked out the bookstore at your library?{I have}
I went to the library the other night and since I love hunting and scouring for good deals I picked up a few books.

Guess how much I paid for these SEVEN books???

Okay, don't laugh about some of the books I picked up. I really like the old Simpsons books and Book of Hell from Matt Groening. Plus I thought it was funny I picked up a book about blogging for dummies, but I thought maybe there would be some tips in there I didn't know!
So I totally urge you guys to check out your library's book store for good deals!
Then I also picked up a Plum District Deal for Lilikoi Boutique in Newport. I had my eye on some swarovski Havianas for some time but I could never justify the price. So I figured this would be the best time to pick some up.

Can you say, ADORABLE???
They make my feet so happy, and guess how much they were?

Once again, I kid you not.
You never have to sacrifice style when you are on budget. You just have to look around for the best deal!

and that is pretty much my life right now.I feel HORRIBLE about neglecting my blog but work has taken over my life.
BUT
My job is the BOMB DOT COM
I am extremely happy with the people I am working with, I LOVE the company and I have so much fun. I don't dread going into work and I look forward to fast days when I check the clock and the day is 1/2 way over. LOVE days like that!
My life is getting away from me {just a lil bit} but I wanted to share some of the things that make me SO happy.
1. Erin Condren Planner I am such a neat freak and want to write down everything and keep it extremely organized and this LIFE planner makes it so easy to do that. My friend, Lauren from Chapman, had one with her name on it and I totally fell in love with it. Right now it's so useful at work because it breaks down the days into morning, afternoon, night. It's the bees knees.

2. Tory Burch Reva Flats Right now these shoes are my life! I am living in them at work because I am not used to high heels. I do a lot of walking around and I need to move fast, and heels just hinder me.

I should be practicing in my big girl shoes but I walk like a man in heels.

3. Organix Moroccan Hair Oil O. M. G. I am obsessed with this stuff. I used to use MoroccanOil Treatment and that got EXPENSIVE. This one from Organix totally does the same smoothing treatment to my hair and it's like 1/4 of the price of the other one. Trust me on this one!

These items are seriously making my life right now so much easier. Since really all I want to do is sleep now I am going head off to bed.
I will check in with you guys soon! I haven't forgotten about you all.

This week is flying by! Is it really Thursday already??After back to back babysitting and finally starting my new job, I knew my good luck was going to run out.
I got sicky.
Sounding like an old man coughing is not all sexy, but somehow I think I am pulling it off. I feel like Phoebe on Friends when she sings with her cold.

2011.
Last year was challenging. I had some ups and downs, especially with school and work. I never thought that college would end and I also thought I would never get a job.
But, after 7 months after graduating I finally got a {big girl} job. College- check!Job- check!
I have been smiling from ear to ear all Christmas "break". Also, relishing my last days of freedom. {So I slacked on my blogging.}I start my new job this week and I am BEYOND nervous. I haven't had a real job in a couple of years. Getting used to 40+ hours again will be tiring. I will miss spending the days with my Mochi. BUT, I am very excited about this new position and the company.
I also am excited about Pink on the Cheek because I have a new logo. My friend Mike, owner of the Bay Area company Angry Ninja, was gracious enough to create a new logo for my brand. Needless to say I was so happy when I saw it and couldn't stop thanking him. At first he started with this.

I LOVED this idea, but I thought having my face as my brand was a little too in your face. {haha}
I then suggested that I wanted the silhouette of myself but I also wanted Mochi in there too. I couldn't believe it when Mike then created this.

WHOA. It was set, it was totally me and Mike totally captured it.
But that's not all. 2011 also ended with being added on to one of my favorite blogs, Living in Yellow. If you head over to Erin's fabulously funny blog you can see me on her left side bar. Her blog totally caught my eye when I was reading how awkward she is, just like me. I also do similar clothing stunts as her, and by completely accident.
When I am trying a new outfit on, if I am getting interesting comments about it at the check out of a grocery store, that outfit will not be making the rotation. {Once, I wore a faux fur vest to the store and my usual check out guy asked if I shot a bear and then wore the fur. He thought it was funny. I then took the vest off when I got back in the car.}
So keep a look out for Pink on the Cheek, I am going national. And by national, I mean I am selling my art across the US and I am on a blog outside of California. But still, it's getting big.
2012. You are going to be BIG. HUGE. You are going to be my year. Expanding the business. Eating healthy. Starting a new career. Working out more {doing something other than Turbo Kick.}The usual resolutions but making them realistic.
I can't wait!

Christmas Quiz

Totally borrowed this idea from Casey Leigh. I am obsessed with her blog filled with amazing pictures, posts that make me laugh and sometimes cry, and the sense that girls can feel connected to each other through their writing. Here is my Christmas quiz:
1. Egg nog or hot chocolate? Egg Nog.
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Wrapped presents under the tree from family and then Santa came with unwrapped gifts at night.
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? White lights on the tree, colored flashing lights outside.
4. Do you hang mistletoe? Nope, I already get lots of kisses:)
5. When do you put your decorations up? I started before Thanksgiving this year!
6. What is your favorite holiday dish? Honey Baked Ham!! That crunchy goodness...drool.
7. Favorite holiday memory as a child? The years where I thought that Santa didn't get the one thing I really wanted and sure enough Momma would bring out a present hidden from the laundry room. Best moments. 8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? I always heard the rumors around school and then I started noticing that Momma and Santa used the same wrapping paper and had the same handwriting!
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? Started doing Christmas eve presents with my boyfriend's family!
10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? I have a collection of ornaments that I purchased on sale from Kohls. I LOVE ornaments with Santa in beach gear, sparkly pink flamingos in Santa clothes, and loud colorful fruit. 11. Snow! Love it or dread it? I love it, I miss actually having snow outside my door.
12. Can you ice skate? It's been awhile, but I was pretty good at the rink!
13. Do you remember your favorite gift? I have had so many throughout the years, it's hard to choose!
14. What’s the most important thing about the holidays for you? I love traditions. I love watching holiday movies, making sugar cookies, decorating the tree, the order of opening presents, each year I look forward to it.
15. What is your favorite holiday dessert? If it's sweet I will eat it. But I love pie, especially apple pie and pumpkin pie:)
16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Decorating the tree.
17. What tops your tree? A silver star.
18. Which do you prefer: giving or receiving? Giving!! I love shopping for loved ones and watching them open gifts. It's hard to keep a secret until Christmas!
19. Candy canes: yuck or yummy? Yummy!
20. Favorite Christmas show? Charlie Brown Christmas, it's beyond classic.
21. Saddest Christmas song? That stinkin' Christmas shoes song where the kid goes to by shoes for his Momma that is dying. It's horrible!!22. What is your favorite Christmas song? Right now I am LOVING She and Him's Christmas album.

My Beauty Routine

I am a girl who loves routine. I even tried Birtchbox, to try new products. But, I love my usual brands.

I start with Aveeno Clear Complexion Foaming face wash. I use this twice a day with my Clarisonic. Shortly after using my Clarisonic, my face really cleared up. I have the occasional break out, but now that's in the past. I kept raving about it to my momma, and she just got one too. She said that its going to take years off her face:)

I then use Clinique Moisture Surge moisturizer, but didn't post a picture of it.

Next is Clinique Redness Solution Protective Daily Base. I have a red face without make up, and this stuff really makes a difference. If you have pale skin like me, this is an amazing product!

I let that sit on my face and settle in for a minute and then I put on my Bobbi Brown foundation. This makes my skin look great every time. The coverage works well to cover dark circles under my eyes and cuts out the rest of the redness in my skin.

Then I use the Nars Orgasm blush.

True story, my mom came to my house and saw that I use this blush. She was all, I heard about this, it's supposed to be amazing!! We then went to Nordie's and she bought me one and one for herself. No joke, to ask the sales girl for the blush I said "Two orgasms please". That was awkward for everyone.

Then when I am feeling like Gwen Stefani I put on my Ruby Woo lipstick from Mac. On other days, I use Viva Glam lipstick from Lady Gaga.

8 days until Christmas

Reading a friend's blog today, she is alerting everyone down to the second of how fast Christmas is approaching. 365 days!6 months!2 weeks!8 days!Whoa, 8 days? I can't believe how fast this year went by. Last year, I was able to put a Christmas tree up. Picked up one that looked pretty at Target, it was a pre-lit artificial tree. It is a family tradition to put the lights up wrong the first time, so I thought that would be low maintenance! Little did I know that my dog was going to destroy the tree.

Here he is, looking all adorable in front of the tree.
See those ornaments in the background. He thought they were hanging dog treats. I came home one day and saw a couple santas on the ground. Luckily only broke one and took the hook off another. The next day, he chewed the light cord. He was The Grinch, out to destroy my Christmas.Now chewing up the lights, I didn't think was so bad. BUT, those buggers were tethered into the tree. Now the tree was a waste. This year, Ernie got me a sick Christmas tree. 7 Feet!! Owned that shorty tree. We got the tree late at night from Target, and he thought I would wait until the next day to do all the trimming. Someone was wrong. I ran for my PJs and starting digging through the ornaments. At midnight- it was done.

It's hard to get a family shot, when it's just the two of us, so we took turns holding Mochi. Hopefully this year, he will leave the tree alone!Merry Christmas!

So I really want to be one of those crazy coupon girls. A girl who like carries binders full of coupons and gets everything down to almost nothing or free. When I first started clipping coupons, I started clipping on things that we normally use. Like toothpaste, certain foods, etc. BUT little did I know, I was doing it all wrong. You need to clip ALL the coupons. Even stuff you don't think you would use, because eventually you will. The lifestyle is, you survive on the things you get nearly free and soon you will be saving tons of money. So the other day I clipped my coupons and stacked them with other matching ones, and set off for Walmart and Target. I was supposed to get free Duck Tape and free Excedrin. Both we can use in the house. I get to Walmart with the coupons, the Excedrin is not free it ends up being like $1.80. Still a savings, but not FREE!! Disappointed I head for the Duck Tape. It ends up being $.89. Now Ernie is staring at me like I am a crazy person to drive all the way to Walmart to get tape. I tell him, it takes practice. We are getting deals here! We get to the check out and it's about to get embarrassing. I don't have the $1.03 {including tax} in my checking to pay for the duck tape.. No kidding, even the checkout woman was like, it's ONLY $1.03! Ernie can see what is happening when my credit card doesn't go through and saves the day using his card. I'm so embarrassed, I decide not to go to Target with the other coupons.WOW- I really need to check on my credit card before I leave the house.

This may sound crazy but I can give the sippy cups to the moms I nanny for and the yummy home fragrances??? I could totally knock out the fart smells from my dog. I grab two sippy cups in glitter pink and lime green. Then I head to the Glade section. While looking at all the smells, I notice three women looking at them too. I immediately think FELLOW COUPONERS!! I try smiling at them and winking, like yeah we are in this secret club. Don't tell anyone else that we are about to save a ton of money on room spray. Fools. I was on cloud nine. I could have started dancing in the checkout lane. I was so happy. That means I only really spent about $5!!! Plus it would have been almost free if I didn't get the warmer!!

I really love to read. And by read, I don't mean school books. I adore getting lost in a good book and letting the day fly by. Ever since I was a little one, books have brought so many good memories for me. I have pictures of myself getting lost in Babysitter's Club books. {Maybe that's why I love to nanny...}

I gush every time I see one of my favorite childhood books. I adore The Polar Express, Anamalia, Where the Sidewalk Ends, Goodnight Moon, The Runaway Bunny, and Babar. The boy and I were at Barnes and Noble this week and he noticed that a woman was showing her daughter, The Giving Tree. I quickly turned around and squealed over the book. The message of giving love is so simple and I practically cry every time I read it.

Right now since school is over, I am reading a plethora of books all at once. I have a little stack by my bed and I pick a book depending on what mood I am in.

I am really getting into the Harry Potter because honest, I can never remember the plot in each movie. The books are so detailed and get spookier with each one, I love it!

The Kardashian one? Yeah- that is my guilty pleasure book. I love celebrity gossip and it was $5 at the library bookstore, it called my name.

James Van Praagh, if you know me, that man has totally changed my viewpoint on ghosts and the after world. But I will have to do it's own blog post one day.

Kitchen Confidential- I really wanted to read one of his books because I love restaurants and I am interested in the underbelly of it all. At least that what the book is promising me!

I am 28 years old. This girl does not stay out late. Ever. The only thing that pushes me to stay awake is Saturday Night Live. Then by the time the monologue finishes, my eyes get heavy and I am soon fast asleep. This Friday I went to bed at 2:30 after an eventful night at the boy's office Christmas Party. The night was filled with a fancy dining {lobster tail AND filet mignon}, open bar drinking, laughing with friends, and cutting a rug on the dance floor {we were the last ones dancing}. I can't believe we were out that late, but we were having SO much fun. When we finally came up the stairs, I figured Mochi would be confused as to why were are just getting in, but he was such a sweetie and I could tell he was asleep the whole time on the couch.Fast forward to the next morning, just 6 hours after falling asleep, our landlord was at the door ready to install our new toilet. The first toilet they tried to install was too big and the door wouldn't open all the way. But now it didn't matter because my original commode was from the 70's, they don't make them that small anymore! So Ernie and I were still in PJs watching them try to fit a new toilet in our bathroom all the while trying to keep our eyes open and stay alert. The minute they left, we ate and fell back asleep. I didn't wake up again until 1:30. OH MY GOODNESS!! I haven't slept in like that in years. It was a complete lazy day. Filled with fast food, sweats, pjs, bad tv movies, snuggles with Mochi and followed up with more naps on the couch. It feels good to have just one of those Saturdays where you do NOTHING. We loved it so much we did it again today. Might as well make a weekend out of it!

The Pleated Poppy gave me inspiration on the blog today. I love Lindsey and her beautiful bloom belts. If somehow I could finagle around a sewing machine I hope they would turn out even 1/2 as cute as her stuff!

Watching: 30 Rock on Netflix. After listening to my twin recite every show by heart, I figured I should tune in. Yes, it's pretty funny and Liz Lemon totally makes the show.

Eating: Mini plain bagel with plain cream cheese and raspberry jelly.

Drinking: Keurig Spicy Eggnog flavored coffee with actual eggnog poured in after. It's beyond amazing and now I'm addicted to coffee again. My dad would be so proud.

Wearing: Green Juicy Velour pants. {Picked up in the kids section of The Rack because it's cheaper.} Victoria's Secret Pink "Paris" t-shirt, Victoria's Secret Pink "San Francisco Giants" sweatshirt.

Avoiding: Doing actual work. It's still early in the morning and until the coffee kicks in, I am lazy bones on the sofa.

Feeling: Content. I am really happy with the added business from Pink on the Cheek. Happy with the steady babysitting. If this is how 2011 is ending, it sounds pretty good to me.

Missing: My best friend Mew.

Thankful: Completely thankful for the little things. Food in the fridge, roof over my head, gas in my car, and still being able to pay the bills.

Weather: Freezing! {for Southern California standards}. It is getting so cold at night, in the upper 30s! It's making it hard to get out of bed in the morning.

Praying: I am praying for Mew's family. I miss them all so much and I wish I could be there to be with you and make you forget all your troubles.

Thinking: About getting the new toilet installed in the condo today. Never seen a toilet be installed before!

Needing: More blankets! {Just Kidding}. I think the two I have on me right now is enough to keep me warm.

Loving: My Mochi. He seriously is the best little pup out there. A great cuddler at night and the best buddy during the day.

There are many things I have not done in my 28 years. Here are just some of the things I want to do but have not done yet:
Being brave enough for a helicopter ride.Run a 1/2 marathon then run a marathon.Scuba Diving.Drive a race car on a professional track.Travel across Europe. Swim with dolphins.Be an extra in a movie.Drive to Hana.Sleep under the stars while camping. Catch a fly ball at a Giants Game. ~~Get my ears pierced.~~
YES! Finally after 28 years, I got my ears pierced. I had been thinking about doing it for a long time and knew that when my Mom came for Thanksgiving it would be perfect timing. I kept seeing all these beautiful earrings and I kind of felt left out. I love my jewelry but you can only have so many necklaces, bracelets and rings. My mom took me to a professional piercing and tattoo studio because I was terrified of getting the gun shot at Clairs. I kept thinking of some underpaid teenager ruining my ears for life or getting a staph infection from the gun. I listened to my intuition and I never felt any pain while getting pierced. My guy made sure that I was well informed about the healing process and how it would feel. My ears did feel warm after and it was kinda hard to sleep the first night because I lie on my side. But the next night I was all better. I just have the starter diamond studs but I cannot wait until I am fully healed and can wear more earrings!
There are still more items to check off my list but I thought that something easy would be a good place to start.

I can't believe it is here. It is like Christmas morning! I am officially seeing myself in a magazine! I used to intern for Coast Magazine about three years ago. I interviewed local businesses in "Shop Talk" and highlighted extravagant pieces that were featured in "Disposable Income". It was such a fun time. I always hoped one day I would be featured IN the magazine...and now my dream came true!

Weekend Thoughts:The weather is getting rainy and I am loving it. Walking a dog who steers me towards puddles, not so much.
Saw all the twihards waiting in the cold to see Breaking Dawn-Part 1 and it only reminded me that I need to finish that book. It just got so boring and draggy but I really want to finish what I started. I can't go 3 out 4 books!!
Trying to plan out the best Black Friday shopping. Having a hard time between starting at Target or Kohls.
Looking forward to SNL with Jason Segel. Hope there are Muppets involved.
Reminding myself to get groceries before Wednesday afternoon. Black Friday is one thing, being stuck at Whole Foods parking lot is not one of my favs.
This weekend is wrapping up and I can't wait for my Mom to come next weekend. Best time ever!

I am weird because:Sometimes a night doing nothing is just what the doctor ordered.I cannot sleep without a sleep mask covering my eyes. I now collect them. I am now spending days with my bangs braided because I don't want to get my hair cut. Even though I have a huge bed, I still don't think it's big enough. I record more tv shows than I have time to watch. I am paranoid about making sure the closet door and bathroom door is closed at night. I could just eat sour dough bread and different olive oils and turn that into dinner.When I don't have money, everything looks good enough to buy. When I do have money I am not interested in anything. It's easier for me to empty the dishwasher while babysitting then clean my own dishes. I cannot have enough Uggs, purses, and blankets. Yes blankets.
I am a bad friend:I can be better reached by text or email by phone. I rarely listen to phone messages right away, I just listen to them to make the icon go away. I say what I am thinking and sometimes without thinking.
I am a good friend:Having one or two close friends is better than a lot you don't always talk to. I really listen and am interested in my friend's problems. Sometimes just walking around the mall and talking is the best free date with friends.I am always thinking about if I am being good enough to my friends.
I am sad because:Living in Souther California makes it hard to visit family and friends because traveling is expensive. I wish my family was close enough to me so I can pop in whenever I want. I knew I could do better in high school, someone should have said that was the easy part of life:)I wish I could have a house full of rescued dogs but I don't have enough space.
I am happy because:I am almost done with my last class of college. Then I can finally feel my diploma. Waking up to puppy kisses is the best feeling. I am so proud of my boyfriend reaching his goals of becoming a lawyer. My plethora of blankets are keeping me warm this winter. The winter is bringing fog along the coast, and i LOVE fog.
I am excited because:It's dorky but I am excited for 2 Broke Girls each week and sad when the episode is over. This year I am getting the boyfriend a stocking for the first time and I can't wait!For 2012 and all the new job possibilites. High school reunion, 10 years!!Coast Magazine published Pink on the Cheek in their holiday guide. I got a fancy new blog design. Thankful for Blessed Design Studio. New library books. Best feeling ever for the book nerd. Christmas decorating!!

So many exciting things are happening this holiday season with Pink on the Cheek!

1. The Pantry moved from Tustin to The OC Mart Mix in Costa Mesa! What a fun location with many little stores. Some of my favorites are KCeeG, We Olive & Wine Bar, and Paper House. At the Mix, there are events happening each week and a farmer's market on Saturdays.

2. The special part about mentioning The Pantry is...they are exclusively carrying my art pieces. You can always contact me through my Etsy Shop, but if you are in the Orange County area, you can find me at The Pantry.

3. The best for last...I am going to be featured in Coast Magazine's December 2011 issue in their holiday gift guide. I am completely stoked and it's such a honor. I once interned for Coast Magazine and wrote a piece for the gift guide. Now I am apart of the magic!! So stay tuned and I will post the article for all to see.
